Heba Zaqout (Arabic: هبة زقوت; 1984 – October 13, 2023) was a Palestinian artist and school teacher in the Gaza Strip.[1] In October 2023 she was killed in the 2023 Israeli bombing of Gaza.[2]
Life
Zaqout was born in Gaza City in 1984.[3] She studied graphic design at the Gaza Training College, and in 2007 graduated in fine arts from Al-Aqsa University.[4][5] A public school teacher, she took part in indoor and outdoor art exhibitions. Her 2021 solo exhibition was entitled 'My Children in Quarantine'.[6] In November 2021 Zaqout participated in the "From Stone to Sea" exhibition held by Dar Qandeel for Arts and Culture in Tulkarm.[7]
Zaqout died on 13 October 2023. She and her two young sons were killed by Israeli bombing.[1]
