Meshkin Dasht (Persian: مشکین‌دشت), also Romanized as Meshkīn Dasht,[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Meshkin Dasht District of Fardis County, Alborz province, Iran.[4]

The city had a population at the 2006 census of 43,696 in 11,171 households, when it was among the six cities of the Central District of Karaj County, Tehran province.[5]

In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.[6]

In July 2013, Meshkin Dasht and other parts were separated from Karaj County in the establishment of Fardis County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Fardis as its capital.[4]

At the latest census in 2016, Meshkin Dasht's population had risen to 62,005 in 18,644 households. [2]
