Domenica Ercolani (3 July 1910 – 17 November 2023) was an Italian supercentenarian who was the oldest person in Italy from 7 May 2022 to 17 November 2023.

Biography

Domenica Ercolani was born on 3 July 1910 in Urbino, in the Marche region, and then moved to Urbania and then to Pesaro. On 7 May 2022, following the death of 112-year-old Angela Tiraboschi, she became the longest-living person in Italy, at the age of 111 years and 308 days.[1] On 3 July 2023 she turned 113;[2] since December 2019, since the death of Anna Benericetti, there have been no 113-year-olds registered among people of Italian origin (residents in Italy or emigrants). Lately she was still in good health, not having to take any medicine other than a few drops to sleep.[3] She died in her home on 17 November 2023. She was succeeded as oldest person in Italy by 113 year old from Faenza, Claudia Baccarini.[4]
