Claudia Baccarini (born 13 October 1910) is an Italian supercentenarian who has been the oldest living person in Italy since the death of 113-year-old Domenica Ercolani on 17 November 2023.[1]

Biography

Baccarini was born in Faenza on 13 October 1910 and was married to Pietro Baldi who was mayor of the municipality of Ravenna from 1951 to 1956. The couple had ten children.[2] In 2021, she was reportedly still in good health: she went to mass every afternoon and was mentally quite clear, although she complained of some vision problems.[3][4] As a supercentenarian she declared that she has always consumed light meals, accompanied by modest quantities of wine and that she has never smoked.[5]

On 17 November 2023, with the death of 113-year-old Domenica Ercolani in Pesaro, Claudia Baccarini became the oldest living person in Italy.[6]

Age verification

Baccarini's date of birth was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organization.[6] The Gerontology Research Group also validated her personal data in June 2023.[7]
