Chand Jalne Laga (transl. Moon Has Started Burning) is an Indian Hindi-language romantic action drama thriller mystery television series that premiered on 23 October 2023 on Colors TV and it digitally streams on Jio Cinema.[1] Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary and Gayatri Gil Tewary under Swastik Pictures, it stars Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann.[2][3]

Plot

Tara and Deva are childhood friends. Tara is the daughter of Vanraj Sehgal who is rich and Deva is an orphan and a farrier who takes care of horses in Tara's house. Deva teaches Tara how to be strong and face her fear. Post which they grow closer to each other. Deva considers Tara as his family along with a horse named Badshah as he has no family of his own. One day a fire broke out in Sehgal Mansion, and Deva was blamed for the fire incident. Tara even after knowing Deva was with her when the fire broke still lies as her father instructed her to lie to save Deva from Villagers. Deva was sent to a juvenile home. Tara hears the news that Deva is dead due to a building collapse. She believes that Deva is dead. After 15 Years Deva comes back into Tara's life as Mr Dev Malik a businessman to take revenge on Tara for what she did 15 years ago. Tara is a successful interior designer. Tara still cherishes the memories of Deva. Deva first aims to take Badshah from Tara back. He buys Badshah. Post which he will make Raunak sell Sehgal Mansion. Raunak sells the mansion by taking the signature from her ill father. Deva offers Tara a project where she can get more money for her father's treatment. Unknown to her knowledge that the project was related to the Sehgal mansion she signs the papers. Deva forces her to work under him to reconstruct the Sehgal Mansion.

Production

Development

The series title is inspired by the song Suraj Hua Maddham, from the 2001 Bollywood movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.... The series was announced by Swastik Pictures for Colors TV.[4]

Casting

Vishal Aditya Singh and Kanika Mann were cast to play the leads as Dev and Tara.[5][6] In early December 2023, Sheezan Khan was cast as Dr. Arjun Thakur.[7]

Filming

The principal photography of the series commenced from September 2023 at the Film City, Mumbai.[8] The cast also promoted the series on Bigg Boss 17.[9]

Soundtrack

The title track has been sung by Amit Mishra and Antara Mitra.[10] The music is composed by Raja Narayan Deb and lyrics by Manoj Yadav.[11]

India Today noted, "Besides Kanika and Vishal’s intense acting, what truly breathes life into the sentiments of love, separation, and uncertainty in their relationship is the music. The show appears to heavily rely on clichéd melodrama and stereotypical elements commonly found in Indian television."
