- Designated by Tepe & Bohs (2011:1077). According to them (2011:1078), the collection referred to in the protologue as "Pittier 7413" is a distribution name, and Tonduz is the collector, with the number 12615 from the national herbarium of Costa Rica consistently listed on the sheets, hence the use of that reference for the type specimen.
