Tore Aleksandersen (born 27 February 1968 in Molde, Norway)[1] is a Norwegian women's volleyball coach, He is currently the head coach of German club Allianz MTV Stuttgart a club that plays in the German Volleyball League the First tier women's volleyball in Germany, as well he is currently coaching the Norwegian women's national volleyball team.

Coaching career

Tore Aleksandersen started his coaching career in his home country in the 1990s with Aukra VBK team, where he started competing in the Norwegian 1st League Division. In 2001, he went to the USA for an experience in the United States Professional Volleyball League and was succecfull with Minnesota Chill when he won the league. After USA success the next destination was japan when he coached along the successful coach Arie Selinger but only for few weeks, Tore Aleksandersen landed at German Bundesliga club Schweriner SC. Here he was in 2006 a German master and DVV cup winner. In 2007, he came 2nd in Germany but again was DVV cup winner. After five successful years in Germany, Tore Aleksandersen returned to Norway for family reasons, where he coached KFUM in 2009 and in 2010 with UiS Volley he became Norwegian champion and after that Success he looked for the Norwegian women's national team. Since January 2010, Tore has again been a trainer in Germany at Schweriner SC and also was on the top head of the Finnish women's national volleyball team. In the 2010/11 season he was able to secure the German championship again with the Schweriner SC. then left the club to concentrate on his position as Finnish national[2] coach. From 2012 to 2017 he was a coach with the Polish first division teams Wrocław and then BKS Stal Bielsko-Biała.

He has been a Norwegian national team coach again since 2018, untill the 2019/20 season, when he moved to train the Turkish club Nilüfer Belediyespor and after one year he returned to Germany to took over Allianz MTV Stuttgart, the team finished in the 2nd position in 2021 season, the second season with Stuttgart.[3][4] was very successful when the team finished the season as Champions, as well they won the DVV Cup and reached the final of the CEV Cup in the same year.

Private life

Tore Aleksandersen is married and has three children. In spring 2020, he was diagnosed with an incurable prostate cancer.[5]
