Tor Ingar Jakobsen (born August 15, 1973) is a Norwegian composer and musician. He is mostly known for his work in the musical theatre.[1] [2] [3] Jakobsen is the composer for the family musical 'The Time of Nick',[4] which had its Broadway presentation in New York City, September 2017 [5] He is also the composer for the NYC based musical Under Her Hat [6] [7] and he has composed the music for the children musical Den Magiske Julekrystallen. Another of his musicals is 'Jakten på Bene Skinnkniv.[8]

He wrote new music for the norwegian outdoor musical Bronsebukkene, and the production with his music was produced in 2018, 2021 and 2023 at Hadeland, Norway [9] [10]

In 2004 he was educated from the University of Oslo as cand.philol. in jazz piano and composing.[11]

In 2004 his song 'Sommertanker' was selected as the 'summer song of the year' by the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK) [12]

In 2006 his learning book in composing for children, 'Komponiststigen' was published at Musikkhuset publishing company.[13]

In 2013 Jakobsen was hired to compose the music for the children's play 'Jakob og Neikob' at Nord Trøndelag Teater. It was very well received, and the music got very well reviews in national press.[14]

From 2018 to 2021, Jakobsen was the composer representative in the jury for 'Best Musical Theatre Production Reward' in Norway. [15] [16]
