The Archies is an upcoming Indian Hindi-Language teen musical comedy film. Produced by Tiger Baby Productions and directed by Zoya Akhtar,[1][2] it features the fictional music band produced by and related to Archie Comics. It stars Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Aditi Saigal and Yuvraj Menda.[3]

It is scheduled for release on Netflix on 7 December 2023.[4]

Premise

Set in 1960s India, Archie and the gang navigate romance, friendship and the future of Riverdale as developers threaten to destroy a beloved park.

Production

Production of the film began on 18 April 2022, during the COVID-19 pandemic,[7] and ended on 19 December 2022.[8]

Music

The film's soundtrack was composed by Ankur Tiwari, The Islanders, Aditi Saigal and Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, while the lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar, Ankur Tiwari and Aditi Saigal. The first song, titled "Sunoh", was released on 19 October 2023. The second song, titled "Va Va Voom", was released on 3 November 2023. The third song, titled "Dhishoom Dhishoom", was released on 25 November 2023.[9]

The soundtrack was released on 25 November 2023.

Release

The cast was announced by Netflix on 14 May 2022.[10] A teaser trailer was released on 17 June 2022; it received mixed reviews.[11] The teaser was displayed on 18 June 2023, in the Tudum 2023 event held in São Paulo. It was accompanied with a dance performance by the cast.[12] The official trailer was released on 9 November 2023.[13]
