Professor Sankar Natesan is an Indian biologist and a Professor at the Department of Genetic Engineering of School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University.[1] His major research area is molecular cardiology. He also served as the Registrar in charge of the Madurai Kamaraj University.[2][3]
In 2016, he was elected as Executive Council Member of the International Society for Cardiovascular Research (Indian section).[4] In 2017, the American Heart Association (AHA) elected him as the Ambassador to India. In 2018, Prof. Sankar was honoured with Distinguished Service Award in Cardiovascular Sciences as well as Distinguished Leadership Award in Cardiovascular Sciences from the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, Winnipeg, Canada.[4][5]
