Rapyd is a San Francisco–based Israeli financial technology company that offers a mobile-first platform for payments through a single API and SDK, founded in 2016 by Arik Shtilman. In 2023, the company was ranked among Top 10 big Fintech companies by Forbes,[1] with an expense ratio of $15 billion.[2]
History
Rapyd recently acquired two Icelandic credit card companies and the Hong-Kong based Neat.[3] The company is currently headquartered in London, United Kingdom.[3]
Partnership
In August 2023, Prosus agreed to sell part of PayU to Rapyd for $610 million.[4]
Funding
Series B
On February 13, 2019, Rapyd completed their series B funding round with $40 million.[5]
Series C
On October 1, 2019, Rapyd completed their series C funding round with $100 million.[6][7]
Acquisitions
In July 2021, Rapyd entered into a definitive agreement with Arion Banki to acquire Icelandic payments solutions company Valitor for $100 million.[8]
