OrbiMed (also known as OrbiMed Advisors) is a global investment firm based in New York City, United States. It is focused on making public and private investments in the Healthcare and Biotechnology industries. OrbiMed is considered to be one of the largest dedicated healthcare investment firms in the world.
Background
In 1998, OrbiMed was founded by five partners from Mehta & Isaly.
In 2007, OrbiMed expanded into Asia opening offices in Shanghai and Mumbai and in 2010, expanded into the Middle East opening an office in Herzliya, Israel.[1]
In 2017, OrbiMed opened an office in Hong Kong.
In 2023, OrbiMed opened an office in London.[2]
In 2023, OrbiMed announced $4.3 billion in new private funds.[3]
