Nils Gilman is an academic, futurist, and author who currently serves as Vice President of Programs at the Berggruen Institute, a think tank in Los Angeles. He holds a BA, an MA, and a doctorate in history from the University of California, Berkeley. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Associate Chancellor at UC Berkeley. He is the author, among others, of Mandarins of the Future: Modernization Theory in Cold War America.[1]
