Maharlika Nation

"NO TO CREATION, YES TO RESTORATION"

Maharlika Nation is a Maharlikan tribe which is aiming for the restoration of the its culture tradition and belief from its ancestor before colonialism, the maharlika nation is not creating its own nation, they seek to restore the ancient name of the Philippines which is the Maharlika

Background

The Maharlika Nation is based on an island of Bucas Grande in Socorro, Surigao del Norte. It claims to represent an indigenous group known as the "Maharlikan people".[1]

In the year 1953, Don Albino Bag-ao Taruc the founder of Bucas Grande gathered the native people into a cohesive organization preserving the spirit of bayanihan locally known as tinabangay. The Bayanihan Spirit is the ancient culture of Bucas Grande Island it is our way of life every now and then.

In early 2020, the Maharlika Nation received public attention when people around different parts of the country came to its islands to receive cash gifts in the form of its own currency, the G-Zion.[2] It was alleged that there was also a membership fee.[3] The Maharlika Nation has denied claims that it is coercing people to pay a membership fee and branded such allegations as slander.[1][4] The local government of Socorro says it will file a case for fraud against the Maharlika Nation for distribution currency that has no value.[3] where the LGU of Socorro failed to prove their allegations to the court which constitutes as an act of defamation.[5]

After the nearby Socorro Bayanihan Services was probed by the Senate for allegations of abuse in 2023, the Maharlika Nation was also subjected for investigation regarding their Protected Area Community-based Resource Management Agreement (PACBARMA) with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Maharlika Nation insists that they are compliant with national laws and regulations.[6] wherefore after investigation the maharlika nation proves their innocence, they are presently operating in accordance with civil and customary laws.

Currency

The Maharlika Nation produces and recognize the G Zion as its currency and legal tender.[7] G-Zion stands for "Golden Zion".[4] As of January 2020, the nation claims the value of one G-Zion is equivalent to 200 Philippine peso. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Philippines' central bank, does not recognize the G-Zion as a legal tender.[7] The currency is produced and distribution by the Maharlika Nation's International Tribal Bank.[1] Its denomination ranges from 1 G-Zion to 100,000 G-Zion.[4]

although the Maharlika Nation already formed treaties with other foreign nations, Gold Land Unit (GLU) Banknote would be exchangeable for the Maharlika Golden Zion note because both are representatives within the global reset banking system known as UBECU, and the direct exchange capability will help to commence both sacred currencies on the path to worldwide exchangeable terms in global banking outlets.[8]

BELIEFS AND PRACTICES

"BATHALISMO/BATHALISM"

The Religion of Maharlikan Tribe

In the indigenous religion of the ancient Tagalogs, Bathala/Maykapal was the transcendent Supreme Being, the originator and ruler of the universe. He is commonly known and referred to in the modern era as Bathala, a term or title which, in earlier times, also applied to lesser beings such as personal tutelary spirits, omen birds, comets, and other heavenly bodies which the early Tagalog people believed predicted events. It was after the arrival of the Spanish missionaries in the Philippines in the 15th century that Bathala /Maykapal came to be identified with the Christian God, hence its synonymy with Diyos. Over the course of the 19th century, the term Bathala was totally replaced by Panginoon (Lord) and Diyos (God). It was no longer used until it was popularized again by Filipinos who learned from chronicles that the Tagalogs' indigenous God was called Bathala.

Historically Bathalism in the Philippines had started from the very beginning of human habitat in the country. Native Filipinos used to pray to different Anitos and Deities, several groups of indigenous people in the country had worshipped Bathala or their Bathala Counterpart. Some of these counterparts were: Lumawig, Apolaki, Mayari, Gugurang, Kabunian, Kan-Laon, Kaptan and others.

TIGMAMANUKAN

A sacred symbol of Bathala, depicting him in the middle with an anito guardian underneath him and a tigmamanukan omen bird behind him. The non-traditional image is influenced by modernity as the tigmamanukan is wrongfully portrayed as a sarimanok from Mindanao.

In Philippine mythology, the Tigmamanukan was believed by the Tagalog people to be an omen or augural bird. Although the behaviors of numerous birds and lizards were said to be omens, particular attention was paid to the tigmamanukan. Before Christianisation, the Tagalogs believed that the tigmamanukan was sent by Bathala to give hints to mankind whether they needed to proceed on a journey or not. In some Philippine creation myths, the tigmamanukan bird was sent by Bathala to crack open the primordial bamboo whence the first man and woman came out.

CULTURE

The Maharlika Nation professed belief in Jesus Christ and Bathala. They advocate for a simple and natural life, prohibiting its members from consuming alcohol, cigarettes, and illegal drugs. They prohibit jewelry, shorts, makeup, colored hair and tatoos for its members. Women members specifically are compelled to wear skirts and are barred from wearing what it deems as "sexy clothing".[9]

Culture can be defined as all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called "the way of life for an entire society." As such, it includes codes of manners, dress, language, religion, rituals, art. culture of the philippines

MAHARLIKA THE ORIGINAL NAME OF THE PHILIPPINES!

THE UNTOLD HISTORY OF MAHARLIKA NATION! ACCORDING TO CINDY JACOBS (is a respected prophet who travels the world ministering not only to crowds of people, but also to heads of nations). (The Prophecy of Cindy Jacobs for the Philippines/Maharlika) The Philippines/Maharlika is the center of Spirituality in the world, is a blessed country, “The promise land”. “The New Jerusalem of the World”. MAHARLIKA is a very ancient name. It may be traced since the reawakening of our Ancestors from the ancient, powerful Nation. It is a profound Spiritual word. It means 'Noble Work, MAHAL na LIKHA GREAT CREATION, CHOSEN PEOPLE. It also means Noble, Sovereign, FREE PERSON by ancient ancestors and very ancient in origin since Creation in the Garden of Eden of MU / Lemuria as preserved and narrated by Indigenous Tribes who still exists in inner Earth, called the City of Gold/ City of Lights and are known in recent history as the Royal Kingdom. The 144,000 original inhabitants from the Garden of Eden as prophesied in Revelations 14:1 now scattered Worldwide and manifesting Sovereignty in Spirit, for the true Land of Promise is in the Philippines, the remnant of ancient Motherland MU / Lemuria (Philippines) who were fearfully and wonderfully made and imbued with Free Will. Even Sanskrit does not have a full word for it, but our Ancestors from the Land of Promise of our Motherland, INANG BAYAN, knew. The Divine Governance, which still exists, of the Maharlika. Philippines was named after King Phillip II of SPAIN. When the Spanish colonizers first arrived in MAHARLIKA (now Philippnes) it was on March 16, 1521, they found the indigenous peoples (Lumads) without any written laws. Mainly, the laws enforced were derived from customs, usages and traditions. These laws were believed to be God-given and were orally transmitted from generation to generation.

Status

Indigenous people recognition

The Maharlika Nation is an independent nation pursuant to R. A. 8371 Section 19 provides — Role of Peoples Organizations. — The State shall recognize and respect the role of independent ICCs/IPs organizations to enable the ICCs/IPs to pursue and protect their legitimate and collective interests and aspirations through peaceful and lawful means. and pursuant to the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R. A. 8371, Rule IV, Part I, Section 2,(b) provides — Recognition of Leadership Titles. To forestall undue conferment of leadership titles and misrepresentations, the ICCs/IPs concerned, may, at their option, submit a list of their recognized traditional socio-political leaders with their corresponding titles to the NCIP. The NCIP through its field offices, shall conduct a field validation of said list and shall maintain a national directory thereof. wherefore the registration upon the NCIP is not mandatory, accordingly the independent ICCs/IPs are recognized by the law. According to the Socorro Mayor Felizardo Galameda, the group had unsuccessfully attempted to get registered as a people's organization.[10]

The Maharlika Nation claims itself to be self-governing under the IPRA LAW or R. A. 8371 Section 13 Self-Governance provides — The State recognizes the inherent right of ICCs/IPs to self-governance and self-determination and respects the integrity of their values, practices and institutions. Consequently, the State shall guarantee the right of ICCs/IPs to freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development. However the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples release a statement that it does not recognize an ancestral domain by an IP community in the town of Socorro where the Maharlika Nation is based.[11] although the NCIP failed to conduct a field validation of the said area of ancestral domain as provided under Implementing Rules and Regulations of R. A. 8371, Rule IV, Part I, Section 2,(b), The NCIP says that as per its own research, there is no evidence that the Maharlikans of the Maharlika Nation does not constitute an ethnolinguistic groups.[12]

The Maharlika Nation says that the NCIP is discriminating against it, insisting that the NCIP does not understand the traditions of the Maharlikans.[12] from the fact that the ancestor of the maharlikans are the so called colorum[13] due to the resistance of inroads of colonization, non indigenous religions, and culture, which conform to the definition of ICCs/IPs from R. A. 8371 Section 3(h).

Claim as an tribal nation

The Maharlika Nation has claimed to be an independent nation within the Republic of the Philippines claiming article 37 of the Indigenous Peoples' Rights Act of 1997 (Republic Act No. 8371) and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as basis for its establishment.[2]

The Maharlika Nation reportedly claims territory in the whole Southeast Asia, and not just the Philippines. Its stated goals is to promote the dignity of the "Maharlika people", the rights of indigenous peoples, and the banning of religion to unite its people under one faith.[2] It designates "New Jerusalem" as its capital.[1]

The NCIP points out that the group has its own self-proclaimed government while at the same time has been seeking help from the national Philippine government.[12] although Atty. Marc Bernal does not have any concrete evidence to prove his allegations, which his actions constitutes discrimination against non registered ICCs/IPs. Registered and Non-Registered ICCs/IPs are both IPs that has a Human Rights, and have the right not to be subjected into any kind of discrimination pursuant to the United Nation Declaration of the Rights of IPs (UNDRIP).

In October 2023, the Maharlika Nation says that it does not seek to secede from the Philippines, and has expressed support for President Bongbong Marcos. They hoped he would continue former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.'s initiative to rename the Philippines as "Maharlika".[12] since from year 1990 to year 2000 the United Nations declares a Decade for Eradication of Colonialism, hence the name Philippines was named in honor to the king of Spain, King Phillip II, which proves that Philippines is not the original name of this archipelago, the name Philippines proves that it is still under the name of the colonizers, that the state failed to comply with the United Nations mandate.
