Kim Ho is an Australian writer, performer and dramaturg based in Melbourne.[1][2] In his stories, Ho explores genre subversion, cross-cultural encounter, and magic realism.[2] He is known for his short film The Language of Love.[3]

Life and career

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Ho was involved in drama from a young age. More than using and performing in plays as a means for storytelling, Ho enjoys film-making as a form of storytelling and has produced a number of short films as a part of Tropfest Australia, the world's largest short film festival. However, in 2012, he began focusing on dramatic writing.[3]

His success in Transcendence in The Voices Project’s Love Bytes competition presented him with a mentorship with Tommy Murphy. The pair worked together to develop the monologue for Ho's short film, The Language of Love, which received the Audience Award at both Sydney Mardi Gras Film Festival and the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, the Rising Star Award at Honolulu’s Rainbow Film Festival, and both the Audience Award and Jury Prize at MoFest!, California.[3]
