Kevin Holland is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in the 2022 provincial election. He represents the riding of Thunder Bay—Atikokan as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario.[1] Holland was previously the mayor of Conmee Township.[2]

Career

Holland was elected in June 2022 as a Member of Provincial Parliament for his home riding of Thunder Bay-Atikokan. Prior to his role as MPP, Kevin served as the Mayor of the Township of Conmee[3] for over 3 decades, being first elected to Council in 1991. Throughout his 31 years on council, Kevin upheld a very high level of public service through his work and involvement on many community boards and committees.

Outside of the political landscape, Kevin has also dedicated 21 years of his life to ensuring safety in the community and region as a volunteer firefighter.[4] This position was of personal importance to Kevin, given his role as Operations Manager of Holland Enterprises,[5] a family-owned business that specializes in the manufacturing of custom emergency vehicles and commercial truck bodies. This experience has provided Kevin firsthand understanding of the intricate challenges and concerns faced by businesses today.

Following his election as MPP, Kevin served as the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing[6] before transitioning to his current role as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Northern Development and Minister of Indigenous Affairs.[7] This track record demonstrates Kevin’s commitment and capacity to promote and advance prosperity and well-being in Northwestern Ontario.

  • The First Vice-Chair of the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA),
  • Board member of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association (NOMA)
  • Vice-chair of the Lakehead Rural Municipal Coalition
  • Director for the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards - Representing Zone 1
  • Chair of the Ontario Provincial Police - Lakehead Police Services Board
  • Board member of the Ontario Police Arbitration Commission
  • Vice-Chair of the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board.
  • Chair of the Conmee Non-Profit Housing Corporation

Personal life

Away from public service, Kevin enjoys the precious moments spent with his wife Lori, their two children, and their three grandchildren.

Kevin's journey is marked by a strong personal devotion to the betterment of all people, the community, and our province.
