Role in Indian mythology
A Treta Yuga king was cursed by a Hindu spiritualist to become a python and live at the Kakolat Falls. The waterfall was visited by the Pandavas during their exile. When visiting, the accursed king got rid of the curse. The king proclaimed any person who bathed in the waterfall would never be reborn as a snake, thus, devotees are known to bathe in Kakolat.[4] According to another perspective, Treta Yuga was cursed to turn into a Dragon and live at Kakolat. When the Pandavas visited, they rinsed him of his curse, and he declared anyone who bathed in the waters would not be reincarnated into a snake.[5]
