KUHD-LD, UHF channel 44 UHF Virtual channel 51), was a low powered HSN-affiliated television station licensed to Ventura, California, United States. The station was owned by Obidia Porras.
Previously, as KUHD-LP, the station broadcast an analog signal on channel 6 and its audio could be received at 87.7 MHz on FM radios. This is colloquially known as a "Franken-FM". However, as of February 2021 KUHD-LP was no longer broadcasting on channel 6.
The station was issued a construction permit to move its city of license to Camarillo, with a new transmitter on UHF channel 44. This included a switch to a digital signal and a call letter change to KUHD-LD.[1]
On November 17, 2023, the FCC cancelled all of KUHD-LD's pending applications, including temporary authority to remain off the air, its construction permits to move to channel 44 (which would no longer be possible as the broadcast television band now ends at channel 36), and its license renewal application.[2] These actions, taken together, essentially eliminated KUHD-LD's ability to return to the air (the existing station license was also cancelled) and the station has been removed from the FCC database.
