Joyce Yeboah Ababio is a Ghanaian fashion designer.[1][2][3] She is the founder and CEO of JACCD Design Institute Africa.[4][5]
Early life and education
Born to Stephen W. Yeboah who was a politician under Nkrumah’s era and Esther Tuyee. Joyce Ababio is the fifth child of her parents.[6] She had her primary education at Datus School and continued to Achimota School for her second cycle education.[7] [8]After her secondary education, she went for higher education to St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, USA. However, after a year studying Medical Technology, she consulted with her mentors and was then transferred to Texas Woman's University where she obtained her degree in Fashion Designing.[7]
Career
After her tertiary education in the US, she returned to Ghana to pursue her dreams locally. In 1995, she established the Vogue Style School of Fashion and Design. In 2013, she launched her eponymous school called Joyce Ababio College of Creative Design (JACCD) in Accra, Ghana.[9] She has been in charge of the costumes of beauty Pageants such as Miss Ghana and a number of first Ladies. She has also groomed a number of renowned designers in Ghana.[10]
