Jay Prabha Medanta Super Specialty Hospital is a multi-specialty medical institute based in Patna, Bihar, India.[1] It is part of Medanta group of hospitals in India. It is located in Kankarbagh region of Patna. The construction was started on 5 May 2016, and was inaugurated on 18 September 2020, by Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar.[2] Its has capacity of 650 beds in 2023. The chain was started in 2009 by cardiac surgeon Naresh Trehan and Pankaj Sahni.
In 2013, private equity firm Carlyle Group acquired Avenue Capital Group's 27% stake in Medanta for ₹960 crore (US$163.83 million), valuing the company at ₹3,550 crore (US$605.82 million). In 2015, Singapore-based Temasek Holdings purchased Punj Lloyd's 17.74% stake in the company.

History
The hospital owes its name to the legacy of Shri Jay Prakash Narayan, a freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of Bihar, and his spouse Prabha Devi.
Facilities
Covering over a million square feet on a 7-acre campus, the hospital adheres to the American Institute of Architects' guidelines for healthcare facilities. It features 14 operating theatres and a capacity of 500 beds, with 112 critical care units.
Medanta Referral Program
Jay Prabha Medanta has initiated a Referral Program in association with the Bihar Government. Under this program, Jay Prabha Medanta offers 25% of hospital beds to referral patients who belong to the underprivileged sections of society and hold BPL (Below Poverty Line) cards.
