J. Alberto Aragon-Correa (also known as Alberto Aragon and Juan Alberto Aragón Correa) is a business data scientist ranked among the top two percent of the worlds’ most cited experts in the field of management.[1][2] He is the Professor of Management and Director of the Talent Incubator at the University of Granada.[3]

Alberto has been the director of different industry-university collaborative initiatives with multinational firms in the fields of talent and sustainability, such as the Alight Talent & Leadership Chair,[4][5] the T-Systems Chair of Sustainable Digital Innovation,[6][7], the AWS – UGR re Start Cloud Computing Training.[8][9] and the Lactalis Puleva Chair of Innovation and Intrapreneurship [10]

Previously to his current position, Alberto was an Honorary Professor of Management and Professor of International Business at the University of Surrey (United Kingdom). He was also a guest visiting scholar at University of California, Los Angeles (USA), University of California, Berkeley (USA), and ETH Zurich (Switzerland).[11]

Awards and distinctions

Alberto has received the Academy of Management «ONE Distinguished Scholar Award». This award seeks “to acknowledge scholars who have taken a leadership role in the field” .[12]

Alberto has been ranked in the “List of Top Two Percent Scientists in the World” published by Prof. Ioannidis (Stanford University) and colleagues.[13] He has also received the Academy of Management “ONE Services Award” after finishing his work as Chair of the Organizations and Natural Environment Division in the Academy of Management.[12]. Alberto has been finalist twice of the Carolyn Dexter Award for papers contributing to the internationalization of the research on management [14].

Alberto’s work has appeared on national and international media. One of his works reached a gross audience of 89.7 million people, appearing in 6,310 media outlets and with an economic impact in advertising terms for its university of over 1.8 million euros.[15]

Research experience

Alberto’s research examines firms’ business strategies, especially those related to the connections between innovation, governance, and sustainability in both multinational and small domestic firms. His two most cited papers have been published in the Academy of Management Review and the Academy of Management Journal respectively.[16][17] Three of his most recent and popular works have been published in the Journal of Management,[18] Academy of Management Review,[19] and the Journal of International Business Studies.[20] Most of his publications have used samples of business data and multivariable analytic methodologies. Additional experience

Alberto has been the executive head of different academic international and local initiatives. He was the founding president of the Group of Research on Organizations and the Natural Environment (GRONEN),[21] which fosters high-quality research on corporate sustainability and builds collaborations among international scholars engaged in these topics.[22] Additionally, he served on the steering committee of the Organizations and Natural Environment’s (ONE) Division in the Academy of Management (five years) and was the Chair of this Division.

Alberto also has editorial experience. He is the current Editor of a Cambridge University Press book series, ″Organizations and the Natural Environment″ (in collaboration with Professor Jorge Rivera).[23] He is also a Consulting Editor of Organization & Environment, a journal about sustainability and management published by SAGE Publishing.[24] Previously, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Organization & Environment (with Professor Mark Starik) from 2013 to 2016.[25]
