Ethan Casson is the Chief Executive Officer of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Lynx, the Iowa Wolves, and T-Wolves Gaming, since August 8, 2016, taking over for Rob Moor.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] In his role as CEO, Casson supervises the business operations of the organizations, collaborating closely with the executive team to establish the organization's strategy.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23] Casson managed the successful conclusion of the $150 million renovation for Target Center.
Casson has come back to Minnesota, after having most recently fulfilled the role of chief operating officer for the San Francisco 49ers. He dedicated six seasons to the 49ers, beginning in 2010 when he served as the team's vice president of corporate sales. Casson rose to the role of chief revenue officer in 2014, serving for two seasons. Before joining the 49ers, Casson spent 11 years working with the Timberwolves and Lynx, serving as senior vice president of corporate partnerships and game presentation.[24] Prior to joining the Timberwolves and Lynx, Casson worked in sponsorship development with ESPN.
Early life
Casson, originally from Connecticut, spent his childhood in the small town of West Chesterfield, New Hampshire. Casson, a twin, went to Keene High School in Keene, N.H.[25] He and his brothers played basketball.[26][27][28] Casson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. Casson played on the men's basketball team at Colby–Sawyer College (class of 1996).[29]
Personal life
Casson and his wife, Lisa, live in Minneapolis with their son. He is a member of the board of directors for YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, board of directors for the Timberwolves and Lynx Fastbreak Foundation, and the advisory board for Positive Coaching Alliance.
