Background

Diether Pascual Ocampo is a celebrated Actor, Philanthropist and Captain of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary ( PCGA ). He was born on the 19th of July, 1973 in Bacoor, Cavite, and is of German, Chinese, and Spanish descent. He undertook his primary and secondary school education in Cavite, then went for a Pre-Med and Bachelor of Business Administration degree at De La Salle University in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

During a talent search that ran between 1995 and 1996, ABS-CBN identified him as a potential candidate for an actor’s role. A year later he joined the Star Circle Batch II. During the same year, he’s a vocalist of a pop-rock band. In 1997, he made his acting debut in a movie called Calvento Files: The Movie. Diether holds the record for starring in the most TV series in the Philippines, being featured in 13 television serials. Some of his famous roles were in La Vida Rosa (2001),Wherever Tou Are (2005) and Apoy sa Dagat (2013). He has appeared in several commercials and also starred in an anti-zoo ad for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

In addition to acting, Diether was also the executive producer of the band Pin-Ups, which was signed under and American label. He also served as an Executive Producer of Tandem Entertainment.

A steadfast patriot, Diether joined the PCGA in 2014, and completed his maritime training in 2019 at the Philippine Center for Advance Maritime Simulation andTraining (PHILCAMSAT) through the Philippine Transmarine Carriers Inc.(PTC). He currently serves as Deputy Director for External and International Affairs of the PCGA National Auxiliary Main Office (PCGA NAMO) and concurrent Deputy Chuef of Staff for Maritime Community Relations ( COMREL) Coast Guard Auxiliary District National Capital Region Central Luzon ( CGAD NCR-CL ).

In 2017, after a short brief break from showbiz, Diether signed up with StarMagic and completed his stint as Special Agent Echo on the action drama series The Iron Heart.

Currently, he is serving in the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Captain, and a Special Naval Reservist of the Philippine Navy and Philippine Marine Corps.[2]

In 2007, Ocampo starred in an anti-zoo ad for PETA-Asia Pacific.[3]

Personal life

Ocampo was married to Kristine Hermosa on September 21, 2004. The marriage was later annulled on January 30, 2009.[1][4]
