Dendi Suryadi (born 20 September 1968) is an Indonesian military officer who served as Commander of Indonesian National Armed Forces from 6 April 2022.

Early life

Dendi Suryadi was born on 20 September 1968 in East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi, to Djamhur and Emly from Kutai descent, and was raised in Samarinda and Tenggarong.[1][2] He graduated from SMA Negeri 1 Samarinda and went to Mulawarman University but only for one semester and then moved to Kediri University majoring in law.[1] He earned his master degree from Brawijaya University and continued his education at Indonesian Military Academy in infantry branch, and graduated in 1993.[1][2]

Personal life

Dendy is married to Ira Puspita Sari, a law graduate.[1][3] They had a son, Kevin Awang Aryatama Suryadi, and two daughters, Keisha Dayang Azahra and Kenisha Dayang Avara Suryadi.[1] Two of his children, Kevin Awang Aryatama and Keisha Dayang, went to Faculty of Law at Gadjah Mada University and University of Indonesia, respectively.[3]

Military career

Suryadi began his military career in Battalion 512/DY by served as a Platoon and Company Commander.[2] He then served as Commander of Military District 0906/Kutai Kartanegara from 2011 until 2014, Commander of Rindam II/Sriwijaya, and Chief of Staff of Korem 043/Garuda Hitam until 2021.[2][1] On 16 March 2022, he was appointed as Military Resort Commander 091/Aji Surya Natakesuma (ASN) replacing Cahyo Suryo Putro.[1] On 6 April, he along with 19 other was appointed as high ranking officer of the Indonesian army.[2][1]
