Chandrabhan Singh Aakya (born 5 September 1976) is a two-time sitting Member of Legislative Assembly from Chittorgarh Assembly constituency representing Bharatiya Janata Party from the Indian state of Rajasthan.[1] He is currently an independent candidate contesting from Chittorgarh.[2][3][4] He is also known as Chandrabhan Singh or Chandrabhan Bhaiyya.

Early life and education

He earned his M.A. in 2000 and his Post Graduate Diploma in physical education (M. P.Ed.) in 2001 from Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 2001.[5][6]

Political career

He is a MLA hailing from Bhadesar,[5] Chittorgarh in 2013 and 2018[7] respectively. He is the only MLA to have delivered consecutive wins in Chittorgarh Assembly elections so far and that too by sizeable margins.[8][9][10]

He started his political career in 1997 as college president in Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

His candidature was instead given to pacify Narpat Singh Rajvi, Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA who was denied ticket from his constituency. Rajvi was previously 2 times MLA from Chittorgarh in 1993 and 2003. Aakya has alleged C.P. Joshi to be responsible for his loss of candidature.[18][19][20][21][22]
