Cardeston is a small settlement in the civil parish of Alberbury with Cardeston, in Shropshire, England. It is near the A458 road and is 11 miles (18 km) west of Shrewsbury. It has no facilities, apart from a Church of England church.[1] In 1881 the civil parish had a population of 275.[2] On 25 March 1886 the parish was abolished to form "Alberbury with Cardeston".[3]Cardeston has a rich history dating back to medieval times. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, an ancient survey of England. It has seen various historical events and changes over the centuries. While Cardeston itself is a small village, there are several notable attractions in the surrounding area. Cardeston Manor, a historic country house, is located nearby and is known for its architectural beauty. The River Severn, which is just a short distance away, offers opportunities for scenic walks, boating, and fishing.
