Clubul Sportiv Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, commonly known as Gilortul Târgu Cărbunești, is a Romanian professional football club from Târgu Cărbunești, Gorj County, currently competes in the Liga III, the 3rd tier of the Romanian football.[1]

History

In the 2013–14 season, Gilortul, led by Sergiu Găman, won the Liga IV Gorj, but lost the promotion play-off match against Minerul Mehedinți, the champion of Mehedinți County, 0–2 after extra time, on 1 Mai Stadium in Slatina.[2]

Coached by Marius Ionel, Gilortul won the Gorj County championship for the second consecutive season, losing again the promotion play-off to Liga III, 3–11 on aggregate with Cetate Deva, the winner of Liga IV – Hunedoara County.[3][4][5]
