Buniyaad (literally Foundation) is an Indian television soap opera directed by Ramesh Sippy[1] and Jyoti. The series was written by Manohar Shyam Joshi and dealt with the Partition of India in 1947 and its aftermath.[2] It first aired in 1986 on the Indian state television channel DD National. It was re-aired on DD Metro and Sahara One.[3] Nowadays, it is re-aired on DD Retro. The story spans the life in India between 1916 and 1978.
Plot
Haveliram , his wife Lajwanti (Lajjo) was orginially from Pindi but lived with his maternal uncle Atmaanand , two biological sons - Kulbushan and Roshan lal, his adopted son Satbir(Sat) ( who was illegitimate son of his sister veerawali and her lover vrishbhan) lives in Bicchowali Gali, Lahore in 1947 during Partition of India when 3/4th Hindu Population migrated from Lahore when Pakistan was created and Minorities move forcefully to save their religion. Lajwanti sends his son Roshanlal to go for Okara to rescue Channi, Dammo and Guru Dutta , Relatives of Lajwanti 's maternal family but his bus was looted near Shahdara Bagh but reached to DAV College Lahore Refugee Camp to save his life. Satbir went to Gaindamal in Gawalmandi Shop for his well being. Gaindamal father opened shop of Dry Fruits Shop came from Mandi Bahauddin In 1904, owned house in Kucha Radha kishan and civil lines and shops in Anarkali Bazaar. Lochan 's family migrated to Shimla in July 1947 and she forced Kulbushan to migrate to East Punjab, Dominion of India. Riots were occurred in West Punjab where Hindus were killed by Muslim Mobs Haveliram Haveliram was forced to migrate during Partition of India and reached to Purana Qila Refugee Camp in Delhi. After sometime get a house as a claim for the property they left behind in Pakistan at Lajpat Nagar.
