Badland Hunters (Korean: 황야) is an upcoming South Korean dystopian action film directed by Heo Myung-haeng in his directorial debut. Starring Ma Dong-seok, Lee Hee-joon, Lee Jun-young and Roh Jeong-eui, the film is a sequel of 2023 film Concrete Utopia and takes up the story post earthquake transformation of Seoul into an apocalyptic wasteland, where everything from law and order to civilization has collapsed.[2]

The film is an original production of Netflix[3] and will be available for streaming on Netflix on January 26, 2024.[4]

Production

The film was planned after the production of the film Concrete Utopia on November 14, 2021.[7] Filming began on February 15, 2022 and finished on May 18, 2022.[8]

On November 2, 2023 Netflix confirmed the production of the film directed by martial arts director Heo Myung-haeng and produced by Climax Studios, Big Punch Pictures and Nova film as Co-producers.[3]

Release

KOFIC's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions announced that the film will be released on January 26, 2024 on Netflix.[1] It will be available in 190 countries for streaming.[9]
