The Amrit Bharat is an Indian push-pull train, designed and developed by Indian Railways at its Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. It aims to provide comparable amenities to the Vande Bharat trains at lower costs.[1]

Overview

Amrit Bharat trains have upgraded second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches and second-class unreserved coaches. This non-AC substitute for Vande Bharat trains is intended to serve passengers at a low cost. In contrast to other Indian trains, they have locomotives at both ends, enabling quicker acceleration and shorter turnaround times.[2] There are 22 Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches on the trains consisting of 12 sleeper class, 8 general and 2 luggage coaches. The train has charging stations, bio-vacuum restrooms, and passenger information systems. CCTV cameras are installed in the carriages to improve passenger safety.[3]
