The 2023–24 AHL season is the 88th and current season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 13, 2023, and end on April 21, 2024. The 2024 Calder Cup playoffs will follow the conclusion of the regular season.
League changes
For the first time since the 1994–95 season, the league will feature an independent team, with the Chicago Wolves playing independently, as they chose to end their affiliation with the Carolina Hurricanes.[1]
