Thomas Hübl (born in 1971) is a business person, spiritual teacher, author, and international facilitator. He speaks at conferences and workshops.[3][4] He is also the founder and owner of the Academy of Inner Science. He offers year-long training and spiritual education.
Biography
Thomas Hübl was born in Austria. He worked as a paramedic after having studied medicine at the University of Vienna.[5] As a student at the university, he started practicing meditation.[6][4] During his studies, Hübl was introduced to the works of Wilhelm Reich and to the teachings of spiritual teachers such as Ken Wilber and Ramana Maharshi.[6] He later began to practice various methods of yoga, meditation and introspection.[6] At age 26, he decided to devote himself to introspection in a 4-year-long retreat, held at the home of his girlfriend in the Czech Republic, where he would meditate for hours on end and explore various degrees of consciousness.[6][4] According to Hübl, it was a time for self inspection and purification.[6] In the early 1990s, he left his studies at the university to focus on teaching meditation and mindfulness.[6][5] In the early 2000s, he held meditation and mindfulness retreats both in Austria and Germany.[5] These included large-scale healing events for Israelis and Germans to address the collective wounds of The Holocaust.[4]
In 2008, founded the Academy of Inner Science which he describes as a "mysticism research center for the third millennium".[6]
As a result of his relationship with acclaimed Israeli artist, Yehudit Sasportas, Hübl frequently visited Israel with which he claims he has a deep connection.[6]
