- (tourism) A marked and advertised road with special signs in a wine-producing region, used to promote local vineyards and other places of touristic interest.
- 1978, Eve Palmer, Geoffrey Jenkins, The Companion Guide to South Africa, HarperCollins, page 367:- Stellenbosch's other attraction—it is a major one—is its Wine Route, and here we are back to Phyl's adventure and fun.
