asega
Old Frisian
Etymology
From Proto-West Germanic *aiwasagō; compare Old High German ēwasago, Old Saxon ēosago. By surface analysis, ā (“law”) + sega (“speaker”). Compare Old Norse lǫgmaðr, which seems to refer to a similar office.
