Compound of 道 (michi, “road”) +‎ 行き (yuki, “going”, the 連用形 (ren'yōkei, “stem or continuative form”) of verb 行く (yuku), “to go”).[1][2]

道(みち)行(ゆ)き • (michiyuki) 

1. (archaic, theater) a travel, journey

   Synonym: 旅 (tabi)

2. a traditional Japanese overcoat, often worn as protection from the cold, similar to a 被風 (hifu, “padded overcoat”) but narrower in the body and with a square collar
3. an elopement, bride kidnapping

• The travel, journey sense for theatre can also be shortened to みちき (michiki) in gagaku circles.

• 道(みち)行(ゆ)く (michiyuku)
