Etymology
Possibly from Proto-Turkic *ïŋïra- (“to neigh; to bellow, purr”). Cognate with Azerbaijani anqırmaq (“to bray, yell”), Turkmen yňranmak (“to scream”), Chuvash ӗнер (ĕner, “to cry (of children)”), Yakut иҥэрсий (iñersiy, “to neigh quietly”), etc.
