1. myth (traditional story which embodies a belief regarding some fact or phenomenon of experience)
   • 1922, Павал Любецкі, “Крытыка і кнігапіс”, in Адраджэньне, number 1, page 317:

     Ад ве́ршу так і ве́е першабы́тнаю прастатою мі́фу.

     Ad vjéršu tak i vjéje pjeršabýtnaju prastatóju mífu.

     The primordial simplicity of a myth is distinctly emanating from the poem.

   • 1923, Міхаіл Піятуховіч, “Максім Багдановіч як поэта імпрэсыяністы”, in Полымя, numbers 7-8, page 96:

     Ня ця́жка заўва́жыць, што гэ́ты і ім падобныя ве́ршы М. Багдановіча ў аснове сваёй прадстаўля́юць мі́фы.

     Nja cjážka zaŭvážycʹ, što héty i im padóbnyja vjéršy M. Bahdanóviča ŭ asnóvje svajój pradstaŭljájucʹ mífy.

     It isn't difficult to notice that this and the other similar poems by M. Bahdanovič, at their core, represent myths.

     Adnák hlybóki análiz najáŭnyx krynícaŭ dazvóliŭ Andréju Januškjéviču razʹvjéjacʹ davóli dáŭni mif pólʹskaj histaryjahráfii ab tym, što pólʹskaje najmánaje vójska adyhrála vyrašálʹnuju rólju ŭ vajnjé 1558-1570 hh.

     However an in-depth analysis of the available sources allowed Andrej Januškievič to dispel a rather long-standing myth of the Polish historiography about the Polish mercenary army playing the decisive role in the war of 1558-1570.
