Cognate with Romanian grapă. Possibly a regional form of Bulgarian гребло́ (grebló, “raker”) (cf. Serbo-Croatian гра̏бље (“rake”)) or alternatively, borrowed from Italian grappa (“hook, brace”) (?) of Germanic origin.
