Vivo Participacoes S.A. is a provider of cellular telecommunications services based in São Paulo, Brazil. The company was formerly known as Telesp Celular Participacoes S.A. and is a subsidiary of Brasilcel N.V. Vivo was created in 2003 as a merger between two Brazilian mobile operators, Telesp Celular and Tele Centro Sul Celular. In 2011, Telefónica acquired the majority stake in Vivo, becoming the controlling shareholder. The company offers a wide range of services, including voice, data, and internet services. It operates a 3G and 4G network, providing high-speed mobile internet access to its customers. Vivo also offers fixed-line services, such as landline telephone and broadband internet.
