After successfully holding her first solo concert entitled "Persembahan Cinta" on November 28, 2008, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), finally on January 14, 2009 Rossa launched a new album entitled self-titled "ROSSA". The main single from this album is "Terlanjur Cinta" which is sung in a duet with "Pasha (Ungu)". This song was created by her husband, namely "Yoyo (Padi)". This album was worked on by Rossa for about 3 years.[1][2]

According to Rossa, this album was originally intended to be released in 2005, but after two years of collecting the material and songs, it has only now been released. According to her, now is the right time, including considering next year's elections, if the album has to be postponed again. In order to promote this album, Rossa also carried out a series of tours in 7 major cities in Indonesia plus 1 in Malaysia which was named "Cerita Cinta".[3][4]
