Pa Las Baby's y Belikeada is the eighth studio album by American regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida. It was released on October 20, 2023, through Rancho Humilde and Street Mob Records, and was distributed by Sony Music Latin. The album follows the band's sixth and seventh studio albums released at the end of 2022, Pa Que Hablen and Sigan Hablando, with hits such as "Bebe Dame", "Ch y la Pizza", and "Igualito a Mi Apá".
The album was produced by lead singer Jesús Ortíz Paz, Ángel Tumbado, Jimmy Humilde and Miguel Armenta, and features guest appearances from Marshmello, El Fantasma, Chino Pacas, María Becerra, Manuel Turizo, Juanpa Salzar, Calle 24, Gabito Ballesteros, Chuy Montana, Armenta, Chuyín, Caro, Omar Ruiz, Los Dareyes de la Sierra, Turo Pacas, and Ángel Tumbado, while additional production was provided by some of the artists on their featured song.[2]
Background
After the release of the group's successful albums released in 2022, Pa Que Hablen and Sigan Hablando, the band confirmed that they were working on their next project through their live performances, constantly releasing music and showcasing various previews of new music. Jesús Ortíz Paz of the group had been working on the album in Malibu, California.[3]
The album was released on October 20, 2023, with two previously released singles being added to the album; "TQM" was released on May 19, 2023 as the lead single for the album and "Sabor Fresa" was released on June 22, 2023, as the second single for the album.[4] Before the album's release, 20 singles by the group were released since the beginning of 2023, 2 of the said singles being featured in the album.[5]
Songs
The songs in the album vary, mostly ranging in different genres and subgenres such as corridos tumbados, reggaeton and EDM music.
The album begins with the spoken-word track "Bienvenida", which contains uncredited vocals by Kenia Os. The album experiments and blends house music and EDM music with regional Mexican music (specifically Sinaloan sierreño) in the track "Harley Quinn" with Marshmello, while "Freaky Freaky", with Calle 24 and Armenta, is a reggaeton track.[6][7] Ortíz sings in English on the song "Dafuk", a drill song that is different from the other songs on the album,[8] which is the first time the group recorded and published a song in the English language and in the genre.[9] The album also includes banda music, norteño music, and Mexican cumbias, in tracks such as "Zona de Comfort", "Puro MQueen" with Darey Castro, and "Desgraciada".
Commercial performance
Pa Las Baby's y Belikeada debuted on the top five on Apple Music in countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, the United States and Nicaragua; top 20 in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador y Panama and top 100 in Malta y Spain. It peaked on number 28 on US Albums in iTunes.[10]
Pa Las Baby's y Belikeada debuted on number 14 on the Billboard 200 chart,[11] number two on Top Latin Albums chart, only behind Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana, and peaked at number one on Regional Mexican Albums.[12]
