The Ministry of Health of the State of Palestine is a government agency in the State of Palestine. The ministry is controlled by the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. After Hamas' takeover of Gaza in 2007, Hamas governments have appointed alternate health ministers for the Gaza Strip.
The ministry is one of Palestine's four major healthcare providers, alongside the Military Medical Services, United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNWRA), NGOs, and the private sector. It operated 27 of Palestine's secondary and tertiary hospitals and 61% of total hospital beds.[1]
As of 2023, the Minister of Health is Dr. Mai al-Kaila.
