The Kladara Fortress is a ruined and overgrown historical site located on the Kaleto Hill, formed by a meander of the Rezovska River about 1 km southeast of Slivarovo Village on Bulgaria's southern border with Turkey. The summit of the hill stands at 233 m above sea level.
History
The fortress exhibits a double fortified perimeter, with the outer wall constructed of quarried stones without mortar, a characteristic feature of Thracian fortifications. The inner wall, made of stone, brick, and mortar, was likely erected during Late Antiquity.
Location
The fortress is situated at coordinates 41°57′30″N 27°40′16″E / 41.95833°N 27.67111°E. Its strategic location on the Kaleto Hill provides a commanding view of the surrounding area.
