Introduction

Use this guide to replace a worn drive belt in a Kenmore 110 Series Washing Machine.

Tools

Step 1

To avoid risk of electric shock, unplug the washing machine.
Lay the washing machine on its back.

Step 2

Using a 5/16" socket wrench, remove both screws from the belt cover.
Remove the belt cover from the washer.

Step 3

Using a 1/2" socket, remove the bolt securing the drive pulley.
Remove the drive pulley and belt.
When installing a new belt, wrap the belt around both the motor and drive pulleys before reinstalling the drive pulley.

I have difficulty to remove the bolt suring the pulley. Is there any tricky to move the bolt?

How can I Kno if it's the motor coupler or belt? Around the coupler is white plastic shavings.

Will the drive belt make a clicking/grinding noise? I originally thought it was just a slipping noise, but empty it does make the grinding noise.

How to tell if it's belt or coupler? I have white plastic shavings around it.

Thank you. 57 yr old woman fixes washer in less than 15 minutes. Ordered belt at Amazon on Saturday and it arrived Wednesday. The belt part number is right there on the old belt, for those who wanted that information. Mine was W10006384. This belt fits many Kenmore 110 series washers.
