Introduction
This repair guide demonstrates how to not only fix a hole in jeans but also make the hole less prominent. Patching a hole in the pocket is easy but sometimes the color of the patch doesn’t match the jeans, making it look awkward. Creating a design on the backside of the jeans will repurpose jeans that were not going to be worn. This will ultimately reduce waste because it allows us to repurpose a pair of jeans that would have been discarded.
Tools
-

                  -
Trim any loose thread around the hole.
-
After cleaning the area, use the iron to warm the area before placing the patch.

-

                  -
Start preparing your thread and needle and knot the end of the thread.
-
Push the needle from the back to the front.
-
Create an outline of the part where the patch is visible, until a circle is formed.

-

                  -
Push the needle from the back to the front, filling in the hole.
-
Repeat this process until the hole is covered and the patch is not showing.
-
Tie off the thread in a knot on the inside of the jeans.

-

-

                  -
Grabbing a new color thread, tie off a knot like mentioned in step 4.
-
Starting inside, create your desired design (we decided a moon and stars).
-
Push the needle back to front creating little clumps within the hole.
-
When you have finished the design tie it off on the inside of the jeans.

-

-

                  -
Cut a new piece of thread and place it on the inside.
-
Push the needle back to front of the jeans and push it back inside a few centimeters down.
-
Repeat this threading technique a few times, creating a star.
-
Tie off the thread on the inside of the jean.
-
Cut any excess thread from the inside of the jean.
-
Jeans are now ready to be worn.
