Introduction
The Smart Roadster front bonnet can misbehave and not close completely when lowering it, having to apply a lot of force to completely close it. In this simple guide I will show you how to adjust the closing mechanism so that it will close completely with minimal force applied.
Tools
-

                  -
Open the bonnet from the inside of the car (use the lever in the glove-box) and raise the bonnet completely open.
-
The 13mm screw used to adjust the closing mechanism of the bonnet. This is the one that probably needs adjustment
-
Screws which secure the mechanism to the bonnet
-
Spring which raises the bonnet slightly so that it can be further opened by hand

-

-

                  -
Use the 13mm Wrench to screw/unscrew the bonnet closing mechanism so that it gets adjusted. Usually it needs unscrewing a little so that it reaches the closing mechanism on the car.
-
The missing black paint on the screw indicates how much this bonnet closing mechanism needed adjustment

After adjustment the front bonnet should fully close easily when lowering.
